Vertebral subluxations are displacements of the spinal bones (vertebrae) that can cause stress to your
spinal cord and nervous system. Any type of physical stress such as improper lifting, bad posture, poor
sleeping habits and trauma can cause subluxation. Chemical stress such as poor nutrition and diet, as well
as emotional stress, may also be indirect causes of subluxation. These three stresses occur due to changes
in muscular balance and tone, causing abnormal stress on the spine, resulting then in subluxation. Major
trauma is not the only factor for the cause of misalignment to the spine, activities of daily living can
also contribute to the vertical subluxation complex.
Chiropractic adjustments are very helpful in correcting subluxations and restoring optimal health.
The chiropractic doctor is trained to detect, reduce, and help prevent nervous system dysfunction through
spinal adjustments. These adjustments are performed at a specific area, with a precise amount of force and
an application of a correct line of drive. Chiropractic care is conservative, non-invasive and cost effective.
When a thorough examination reveals joints are not in proper function, adjustments are applied to
correct joint alignment and mobility to relieve associate muscle and nerve tension, to improve balance,
and to assist in healing.
